One thing I realised long ago is that we humans are a very confused species. Yet another thing that I realised more recently, is that there is an answer for all this. This answer is our intelligent growth and evolution.
We grow like plants- with sunshine, water and, most of all, love. Human love is wonderful. God's love is divine. What is it that is somewhere between the two and more aware of the latter? Well, that would be the love of angels. If you sense illumination coming into your life, a new warm friendship or just that things are coming together in a way just right for you- This may well be the gift of an angel, working for God.
