Due to the unfolding disaster of the Middle East, this blog will be focusing as much as possible on the true way to combat hatred with the force of love and hence bring peace to that region- a peace that the world's politicians can't give. It is the writer's earnest hope that this goes some way to finding a stable, fair and as far as is possible permanent solution to the region, one that respects both it's multi-cultural heritage and the need for human rights. Deeply good intentions, prayers and meditation will inevitably bring such results- the keyboard is mightier than the gun- inasmuch as we are pure of heart, the results we long for will be borne as fruit on life's tree.
Note- 4th January 2008
Such a particular focus to this blog was not to be, at least so far. Yet peace in the Middle-East is a touchstone to peace everywhere and visa versa. The evolution and progress to peace is the main thing in our lives- and it is an evolution, as it is an attaining of a particular level of understanding and mutual justice at which real, sustainable and sincere peace is at last possible. We need to grow together a lot to realise this. We need to learn to grow together, like vines winding around the same tree of life.
Commentary on the world as I see it, which of course is exactly how it is! This is for things deemed too dark for my regular feeds, but important.

An Interesting Lesson
Yesterday, when teaching at school, a boy kicked the boy next to him while he was reading his homework out, so of course I told him off. He then continued to subtly and not-so-subtly harass him (I'm not sure why, but it probably wasn't the first boy's fault and even if it was), leading to his 'victim', who also seemed to be his friend (to an extent) trying to escape from the situation by staring into his text book. Since it happening was right near me, (even though I'm technically an ALT and not in charge of disciplining the students) I made the 'bully' keep himself to himself. I pondered whether to temporarily move him, not really wanting to do anything overt that might lead to later recriminations of the 'victim', who might later be blamed for it when I'm not around. So, I decided instead to just dock his homework score by a point, however good it was. After all, interrupting someone else's homework is in a sense not being good at the whole homework thing:)
So, this I did, out of his sight, but he must have realised something had changed, as at that very moment, he accidentally kicked his own desk and said a loud 'ouch!' I looked at him with a mixture of sympathy and 'That's karma you little f***' and then from that point on he was very nice to the boy next to him, (who seemed to be his friend after all), offering to share his pens- a perfect result all around.
The incident made me think of the so-called 'Book of Life', in which angels are held to write the names of the righteous. What if all through life we have various tests and they mark us on them, just as I was marking my mark-book? What if these tests are not so much to see what we are already like, but more to transform us into something better, into more caring people, hoping for a better grade from such angels and the resultant promotions and blessings that come from such exhibitions of faith? Yes, our works may not save us, but our attitudes and how we respond on a moment-to-moment basis might. Every day, we are being helped along on this path- we just need to learn the right lessons.

On The Book of Life
The Bible speaks at times about a Book of Life, into which the names of the faithful go. Of course, my broad interpretation of 'faithful' is far more than the members of any particular religious sect- it is the children of humanity that have love in their hearts and the courage to share this with others. It is those who are at one with the lifestream of God's 'blood'- the love that encloses the universe as a womb of experience, that nourishes all within it- and the divine will to protect this womb. Like the great oceans and milk-oceans of stars, this blood is the love of God, it flows everywhere, it reaches and nourishes all, like a wine to refresh the spirit. There shall ever be new bottles for new wine, new bodies for new partakings of God's gifts to us all.
The Book of Life, that book from which the terrible sinners are erased, never to be reborn again, never to taste the heavens, never to return to God.
To be blotted out for all time! To not exist again- to be lost, rejected, proven unworthy of God's trust! What a fate- no Earthly punishment can compare. Hence those who are clearly written in the Book of Life are quite evidently strong enough to endure even to the worst that mankind can hand out in their attempts to punish those who they deem to be wrongdoers- and along with them the occasional Holy Man mistaken for a criminal, simply because he might break their laws of common ways to relate, simply because his love may know no bounds, may know no rules, may expand beyond the false limits placed by social convention in which only some deserve love.
Yet who will ultimately be chosen by the powers that ultimately be, the powers of heaven, those that persecute and try to bury the truth of God's eternal and unconditional love, of God's forgiveness- or those who are lost, of those who through no fault of their own have been forgotten by the sons of men,- the blind, the sick, the sinners and the lost- let the great shepherd of God gather them all in, all into the great field of Love, in which all may freely graze on the spiritual fruits of eternity.
Love, Life, all are one. So have love in your life, lest you get stuck in some small puddle, whilst the great river of life bubbles happily on around you. Be not stuck! Flow, baby, flow- love is forever and forever is for NOW!

Akashic Records - From Wikipedia

One claim made by the Author of the Book of Aquarius is that he learned of these travels of Jesus to the Eastern lands via the Akashic Records- the 'memory banks' of the universe. Whilst I am not sure how strictly historical the accounts in this Gospel are, I believe that they are essentially so- that they are true to the spirit of the teacher and the times. Am I too easily satisfied, prone to wishful thinking? Hope not- but you be the judge of that!
I do think that these records exist, as well. Perhaps one day The Internet and even some of this blog will be revealed as part of them, part of the vast consciousness, in which nothing of any value is ever lost. At any rate, here is the Wiki on the subject, which I found to be very concise and well-written and taught me a lot, too...
Akashic Records - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
"History of Akashic Records
Some who believe in the Records claim that they were used by ancient peoples around the world, including the Indians, Moors, Tibetans, Egyptians, Persians, Chaldeans, Greeks, Chinese, Hebrews, Christians, Druids, and Mayans. The belief is that the ancient Indian sages of the Himalayas knew that each soul recorded every moment of its existence in a 'book', and that if one attuned oneself properly then one could read or view that book. In Egypt, it is said, those who could read the Akasha were held in high standing and were often found advising Pharaohs on daily activities and dream interpretation. A Chinese gentleman named Sujujin was reported to need only the first name of anyone to access the Akasha and describe their life history; another Chinese seer, named Tajao, explored a variety of topics in the Records which span over two thousand years. The Bible mentions the records as Book of Life on several occasions, both in Old and New Testament.
The Vedas of Hindus and the language of Sanskrit itself are said to have been extracted from Akash.
In Surat Shabda Yoga cosmology, the Akashic Records would be located within the causal plane of Trikuti..."
