Evocation

What is an evocative word for me? For me such a word would be voyage. Setting sail onto the ocean to new lands. The fearless son, armed with the magical sword of righteousness, glowing with fiery embers in the near-darkness of dawn. That moment is the birth of awareness, the awakening of conscious intention.

Yet this is a voyage of self-discovery. It is what is within that we will be encountering. The sword is there for the felling of whatever dangerous creatures are to be found there.

Just like the dream, however, there are so many more elements to life than just this- there is family, friends, conversation, the meeting with others. Many other aspects of myself need to be explored in unison. I am not at heart a solitary being... I am no island-creature, but one who needs bursts of solitude to refresh my mind, the rich, nourishing waters of right meditation.

This is all, inevitably, heading towards some sort of fantasy-story, emerging in clarity from my subconscious. It may or may not appear here... but at any rate here can be seen the creative process which is giving birth to it. I am thinking the lines of daily, or weekly updates to such a story... the eventual fruit of this bud-like flower...

Note: As a matter of interest to the reader, this post was in draft form until being published just now, almost three months later, an unprecedented event on this blog until now. I simply wasn't comfortable with it as it then stood- it seemed too unbalanced, too extreme. Yet now I understand better the kind of voyage beinmg spoken of and it scares me less. As it is, like all true voyages, one heading towards paradise itself, however long and winding the road to be travelled. In this there is rest, in this there is peace- rest and peace in the midst of actions.
