What we need is a great movement against war, against violence, in and of itself. This is something that Krishnamurti himself called for- not just a protest about this war or that war, or for or against particular sides (which is not to say they are always morally equivalent), but against war itself. Such a mass-movement could make even thinking of solving problems this way quite rare if not virtually impossible. Did you ever think of planting red carmellias all over the world, or of genetically designing a pig that could fly? No- because it has not become seen as a culturally appropriate response to the world's problems. Let's do the same with war, terrorism, kidnapping, violence. Let's make them impossible to imagine, impossible to do.
So, whilst I sympathise with the anti-war demonstrators, it is as someone who is against war itself, not someone who is against Israel or America, not as someone filled with hate and anger, but as someone filled with the desire for peace.
This is indeed idealism rather than realism. Yet the path towards the ideal is the path to a better future, the path to encourage our youngsters towards. We make the worlds through our imagination, in our image, just as we were made in the image of far greater beings, beings that could imagine perfection itself...
